I’ve always kept sketchbooks of one kind or another and I use them to experiment with new art materials as well as favourites such as pencil and ink. I like to regularly practice drawing skills away from my commissions and they are great way of keeping a record of ideas for illustrations I may like to make at some point at a later date.
